Why Blog?

I find that I am inclined to write long epistles on facebook  which is not really designed for blogging but I always have so much to say.   So I thought a blog  of my own would be the best place to record my thoughts and doings. Sometimes there will be many and there will also be times when I have little to say.  Thats life!

Armed Forces Day

I was in Blackpool for a free meal put on by  the pub restaurant in Coral Island. This is the 5th year they have done this and today  served 380 meals. You would think with it being free, the food would be basic. Actually it is really delicious. A carvery plus a beef stew which was just how I like it, very tender and juicy in thick non glutinous gravy. Fresh vegetables too. Apple pie or Eton mess for desert, a free glass of wine, or lager as we went in.  The staff really looked after us and everyone is smiley. We were entertained by the 19th Regt RA Highland gunners, pipes and drums. Very smart. We were a group  of 4 WRAFs  one RAF chef and one MT driver. All retired of course. This is the about the 4th time we have been to this meal
